“Physical Literacy 12 Steps Pledge Ambassadorship: I Dance for Physical Literacy 12 Steps” by Steven C. McCartney is a 12 step guide to improving physical literacy through dance. The book describes various techniques and reasons for forms of exercise, including better lifestyles, improved competence, and confidence in physical activities, increased longevity and overall health.
While the book had an important message, I felt it was not delivered in a clear and concise way, due to the formatting and book design. The illustrations were very distracting and made it hard to focus on the twelve steps. The font was also very distracting as it changed slightly from page to page. However, it did have some nice features to help you gauge the health of your lifestyle, including a longevity quiz assessment. It also had a useful, and extensive glossary with detailed descriptions of health terms.
I would recommend “Physical Literacy 12 Steps Pledge Ambassadorship: I Dance for Physical Literacy 12 Steps” by Steven C. McCartney to people who need help getting motivated to exercise. The book gives the reader tips on how to enjoy exercise. It also offers resources for monitoring diet and general fitness. An important message in a short read!
