“The Magic Thief: Found” by Sarah Prineas was the story of Conn, once a gutter boy and then a wizard’s apprentice. Now exiled from his city for supposed crimes, it was too dangerous for him to enter the city, but enter he must for a rogue magic threatened to make his town its next victim and destroy everything in it. When Conn discovered a spell to find a new locus magicalicus (a source of wizard power) he used it. But when the spell worked strangely and supposedly extinct dragons start appearing, Conn was only sure about one thing. He had to find his locus magicalicus no matter what. Will Conn find it before it is too late and the predator magic destroys his city?
When Conn was exiled from his city of Wellmet for illegal pyrotechnics, he was forced into hiding in an abandoned part of town. However, he still managed to remain in contact with his wizard friend Nevery. When Conn discovered an old spell that can be used to find a wizard’s locus magicalicus, Nevery agreed to help Conn with the spell. Conn believed that he could find his locus stone before the rogue magic arrived. But as the spell led him farther and farther from home he began to wonder if he would be too late. Will Conn be able to find his locus magicalicus? Will he be able to defeat the rogue magic?
Conn was a fun character to read about because he was always doing interesting things and you wanted to find out what was going to happen next. He was determined and adventurous and always tried to do the right thing no matter how hard. He had several neat adventures through all sorts of challenging terrain trying to find his locus magicalicus and to save his city. He gets captured by a dragon and escapes hanging at the last second. But despite these amazing feats can he save his city?
I would recommend “The Magic Thief: Found” by Sarah Prineas to people who like action-packed adventure and magic books. It was very fun to read about all of Conn’s escapades and close shaves with danger. This was a fast-paced book and even though it is three-hundred-sixty pages long, it goes really fast.
