A cute, but somewhat sad, book about how Santa got discouraged with the children of the world and their not caring or helping others. He decides he is not going to give Christmas gifts this year. But his daughter Sarah knows just who to call- Flat Stanley. Stanley and his family make it better for Santa Claus and children.
“This was sad kinda. Children were being mean all over the world and not treating others nice, so Santa got sad and decided he wouldn’t give gifts to the children. Lots of my friends don’t believe in Santa Claus- I do. You have to believe. His daughter went to see Flat Stanley and his family to see if they could make Santa happy again. It took a lot of work. But Santa was happy again.”
Zoey really likes the Flat Stanley series and just started reading this summer. The stories always have good moral lessons, about being kind to others and being respectful. It’s easy for kids, maybe in 1st or 2nd grade to read these stories and then make up their minds how they would feel. We both recommend “Stanley’s Christmas Adventure.”
