“The girl named Hannah was born with really big ears and because she had big, big ears the book says that she could hear lots of things that people with normal ears can’t. It said she could hear the grass grow. I think that this book is a fiction book because I don’t think that anyone can hear the grass grow even if their ears were humongous. It even says that she could hear the tree roots drinking up water. That would be really cool if you could really hear those things though. A tree talks to her and says that it is sad and lonely. She tries to save the tree so they don’t cut it down. I like when all of the animals come to help.”
“Hannah and the Talking Tree” is a wonderful book that will help to increase environmental awareness in younger children. The illustrations are clever and fun, and the overall message sent is a great one!
