Miles and I really enjoyed this book by Jeff Mack. I love the fact that the entire story is just as the title reads, “Good News, Bad News.” The story walks us through Rabbit and Mouse having a picnic. As they get set up, one sees the good in the situation while the other points to the bad in the situation.
Right on the cover is a perfect example. Rabbit is holding the apple and I assume he thinks it’s really cool and Mouse is angry there is a worm hanging out in his apple. This story is a perfect example for showing children there is good in everything; even if the rain prevents the picnic for a short while, you could still make the best of it.
Miles loves pointing to the illustrations and saying the words. We are working on vocabulary and “Good News, Bad News” by Jeff Mack really kept his attention. Pictures alone say so much with only 4 words!!!
