“Elemental: Bête Noir” by Joshua Guerrero is the story of Ezekiel, a teenager who was suddenly gifted with the ability to control the elements. After receiving a mysterious package that contained the amulet that granted him his powers, Ezekiel was suddenly confronted by an angel who said that he would teach Ezekiel about his powers. But when an evil beast was released into the nearby forest, Ezekiel was the only one who can stop it. Will Ezekiel be able to harness his newfound powers to defeat the beast?
After an accident at a local factory, a black beast, also known as the Bête Noir, was released into the surrounding forests. Terrorizing the local wildlife and human populations, the beast claimed many victims. But now it is up to Ezekiel to defeat it before it claims any more lives. Can Ezekiel kill the Bête Noir?
The book was pretty well written, but could be a little choppy in places. It had a good plot and had strong characters. The book really had the reader relate to the characters after a short while. It had a bit of a slow start, but had a fantastic ending.
I would recommend “Elemental: Bête Noir” by Joshua Guerrero to people who like fantasy books. The book was very entertaining and packed a thrill. It took a little while to totally get into the book, but once I got far enough in I was riveted. This is the author’s first book as well as the first in the “Elemental” series. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read the next one.
