My Brave Year of Firsts: Tries, Sighs, and High Fives
Jamie Lee Curtis & Laura Cornell
Reviewed by Miles Cassells (age 2) and Mom for Reader Views (10/12)
This book is full of excitement!! Miles was so excited about the bike on the front cover and first couple of pages. That’s all it took to steal his heart! Each page of “My Brave Year of Firsts: Tries, Sighs, and High Fives” by Jamie Lee Curtis and Laura Cornell is filled with great illustrations and Miles was able to get a great big giggle out of each page.
He has such an understanding of things that I wouldn’t have imagined him to have just yet. He is getting ready to head off to a preschool and the parts about school really help to get him excited for his next big change. He is such a smart kid and I want him to always enjoy school. Reading the funny “firsts” - starting with bike riding and mom screaming while videoing with her iPhone to making friends and laughing so hard milk comes out of your nose – is so much fun.
I love this book! Miles loves this book! I will have to buy “My Brave Year of Firsts: Tries, Sighs, and High Fives” by Jamie Lee Curtis and Laura Cornell for his friends. Hopefully they will get as excited about trying new things and be encouraged when it doesn’t work for you the “first” time.
