“The Berenstain Bears’ Winter Wonderland” by Jan and Mike Berenstain is a winter time lift-the-flap book.  It is kind of simple and doesn’t have as many words as most Berenstain Bear books.

Brother and Sister Bear do all kinds of wintery things.  Sister Bear builds a snowbear while Brother Bear wants to have a snowball fight.  Sister Bear wants to go ice skating.  Brother Bear still wants to have a snowball fight.  Sister Bear puts on snowshoes and so does Brother Bear (but he still wants to have that snowball fight).  Sister heard something in a tree and Brother found a wild bear.  Brother thinks the ski slope would be good for a snowball fight, but Sister gets on a snowboard and skis.  When they get to town, Brother Bear still wants to have a snowball fight but Sister says it is not a good place.  They take a sleigh home and you’ll have to read the book to find out if Brother finally gets his snowball fight.

I recommend “The Berenstain Bears’ Winter Wonderland” to very young kids who like to lift flaps.  It is a cute story but very simple.
