“Strangers on the High Seas” by Carole P. Roman is another wonderful book in the “Captain No Beard” Series. This particular story takes place on the imaginary pirate ship, the Flying Dragon, with Captain No Beard and his crew members. Except this time there is a new member on board, Cayla, Captain No Beard’s little sister.
Captain No Beard didn’t have anything nice to say to Cayla. But while they were off at sea, they came across another ship approaching and none of the mates knew who they were. Everyone quickly used their “brainbox” and knew they should not talk to strangers or approach animals without permission.
We always enjoy the “Captain No Beard” stories. Miles is really obsessed with the pirate life and has a Captain No Beard t-shirt that he wears all the time. He can often be found yelling “ARRRG!” at the top of his lungs when he thinks no one is watching.
“Strangers on the High Seas” by Carole P. Roman reminds children that you don’t talk to strangers or just walk up to animals because not everyone is nice. We have to be careful and use our heads so everyone stays safe. Not to mention, being nice to our siblings.
