“Biscuit Loves the Library” by Alyssa Satin Capucilli makes going to the library fun. A little girl brings her puppy Biscuit to the library, for Read to a Pet Day, which leads to a trip through the library to find just the right book. My daughter Alyvia was able to read from the very first page with easy to sound out words and colorful pictures that she loved to look at while she was reading. Eliana liked finding all the different pets that were at the library for Read to a Pet Day. There were a lot of puppies and a rabbit and a couple of guinea pigs and don’t forget a yellow cat. Both girls wished they had a library like the one in the story.

The story line was enjoyable for both girls, especially as they followed Biscuit through the library looking at all the different books to find just the right book to read. The girls thought it was really funny how Biscuit found a book with a dinosaur bone on it and thought it was a real bone to chew on. The reader will never guess where Biscuit ends up at the end of the story, and what book he chooses.

“Biscuit Loves the Library” by Alyssa Satin Capucilli is a great book to get young readers started off on the journey of reading.
