In “St. Patrick’s Day” by Anne Rockwell we visit Mrs. Madoff’s class and learn about St. Patrick’s Day traditions and the history behind the holiday.

Cayden:  “I want to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day.  I don’t know if I have anything green though!  I liked when the kids wrote the story about St. Patrick and I liked the pictures that they drew.  My favorite part of the book was the part about how St. Patrick got rid of all of the snakes in Ireland.  I also liked the shamrock part.  Could we try to make soda bread on St. Patrick’s Day?”

Parent’s comments:

We really enjoy Anne Rockwell’s holiday books as they are both educational and fun to read.  Not only did my son learn a lot about St. Patrick’s Day but I learned a couple of new things as well.  The illustrations in “St. Patrick’s Day” were entertaining and really got my son excited for the upcoming holiday!
