Eye Witness: Acts of the Spirit Book 2 of the Eye Witness Trilogy, “Eye Witness: Acts of the Spirit” is a graphic novel. Dr. Terrance Harper and his partner Raj Patel have translated a first century papyrus scrolls written by Joseph of Arimathea. When they travel to Jerusalem a terrorist bombs their car resulting in the death of Raj. Dr. Harper in gravely injured. As Dr. Harper fights for his life he experiences the life of Christ through the eyes of an actual eyewitness. Luedke takes the reader from the moment the stone was rolled away through Paul’s rebirth on the road to Damascus. The story is true but written as work of fiction. Robert James Luedke presents the gospel in a unique manner. He draws on his skills as a cartoonist to tell the story of the resurrection. His talent will entice children and youth to read where they may have resisted previously. This story is moving and told through a different perspective. The illustrations are beautifully done and will appeal to children and youth. The content is a beautiful way to illustrate the love of Christ for each of us. Luedke explains how “Jesus’ death should be looked at as a joyous event, rather than a tragedy!” While this book was written to entice children to the true story of Christ Jesus it made an impression on this reader also. It was a pleasure to read this book. I am eager to delve into the first and last books of this series. Mr. Luedke’s faith shows throughout this piece of “art”. We owe him a debt of gratitude for allowing it to show. It is with great pleasure that I highly recommend this book to parents that want their children to discover the true story of the resurrection. |
