“Benjamin Bear Says Please” is a small board book which follows a very energetic Benjamin Bear as he plays outside with friends in the snow.  He forgets to say please on many occasions but after awhile he learns.

Max:  “The bear had fun playing out in the snow!  I like to play out in the snow too.  I liked when he made a snowman.  We do that too.  They went super fast down the hill on their sled!  I liked when he said please, that is what you are supposed to say.  My favorite picture was when they ate doughnuts and had hot chocolate.”

Parent’s comments:

“Benjamin Bear Says Please” by Claire Freedman is a great book to teach young children the importance of saying please.  As the author is English there were a few unfamiliar words in the book for both my son and I, most notably the usage of the word “sledge” instead of “sled.”  However, I think that this adds to the charm of the book and also provides a lesson in cultural differences for young children.
