Biscuit Goes to the Fair (A Pull-the-Tab Word Book) (Biscuit Series)
Max: “Look, dog! Woof, Woof!” Cayden: “This book has tabs to pull! I like those kinds of books! When you pull the tabs on this one the pictures change to words. I think I can learn to read some new words that way!” Max: “Ride horse!” Cayden: “A parade too! We like parades- they throw lots of candy to us.” Cayden: “My favorite part of the book is pulling the tabs and seeing the words for the pictures on the page. I liked to see the things they did at the fair because we did some of those things too. “ Parent’s comments: “Biscuit Goes to the Fair” by Alyssa Satin Capucilli is a pull-the-tab book that is beneficial in teaching young readers new words. On each page some of the pictures in the text can be replaced by words by pulling on the tab. Words also appear by the illustrations naming what they are. The tabs were a little difficult for Cayden to pull in the beginning, but once we got them “loosened up” they worked much better. The story is a fun one that has elements that will be familiar to most young children, like carousels and parades. The illustrations in “Biscuit Goes to the Fair” are entertaining and my children really enjoyed this newest Biscuit adventure! |
